My mother-in-law, Kary, took some pictures of my little prince while they were visiting. She did such a good job and Max is so handsome in all of them. It was hard to not post all of them on this site. The pictures were of his second day. He looks older than just two days!

Max had his first doctor appointment on the 29th. It was a great checkup. His weight had picked back up and he was only 5% under his birth weight and his jaundice was clearing up really well. When we got back in the car, I found him giving us his stink face. It was too cute not to take a picture of :)

July 29th - Leaving doctor after first checkup.
We gave Max his first bath at home on the 30th. He didn't really care for it.

July 30th - Adam washing his hair.

July 30th - First Bath
July 30th - Nice and warm in his Cookie Monster towel.

It only took a week for Dee to become comfortable around Max, but she loves her little brother. She's always giving him kisses and trying to snuggle with him.

July 31st - A boy and his dog.

Once Upon A Little Boy

Once upon a time, in the city of Columbia, a beautiful baby boy was born on July 24, 2013. He was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Every minute of those long fourty-one weeks was absolutely worth it.

Adam, his father, and I arrived at the hospital at 6:00 AM on that Wednesday. My mom and my sister-in-law were with us to keep us company during the labor process.

I was finally induced with Pitocin at 8:00 AM. It worked right away. We passed the time until we could meet our little boy by watching Full House, What Not To Wear, and by playing Mad Libs. Ado had never played Mad Libs before. I think he really enjoyed them.

Around 11:00 AM, they broke my water. That is when I really started to feel the contractions as the pain was all in the back. At 12:30 is when they administered an epidural and the labor went much smoother. By 5:30, I was ready to push. An hour later, my beautiful baby boy was born.

At 6:29 PM, my 7 lb 2 oz baby boy was born. Only 21 inches long. Tiny compared to what Ado and I weighed when we were born.

Max <3 Born July 24, 2013 at 6:29 PM.

Four days were spent in the hospital. A prolonged visit due to the fact that  Max was at high risk for jaundice. He spent the third night under a light to reduce the bilirubin.  Thankfully it worked and we were home the next evening at 7. He couldn't have been more happy to be home.

July 27th - On our way home!

I created this blog so I can keep track of how quickly he is growing and hopefully mark milestones in his life that can be shared with the family. Hopefully by posting daily pictures of him.
